i have returned from the greatest place on Earth. No, it’s not Disney World. It is the Anytown/Lead For Diversity summer program. 

I can honestly say that the people i work with are the greatest group of people in the world. i laugh harder, cry more genuine tears, hug more, get hugged more, have REAL conversations with AUTHENTIC people, and am able to be myself. they are truly my best friends and my family. 

I had the pleasure of spending 7 days with my best friends, uninterrupted. we made a difference on the program delegates and i am certain, they will continue to change the world. if we each touch the life of one person, and those people change the world of one other person, we have done our jobs. the world will be a better place because of this program and these people.

i came home to an empty house, but i knew that in the days to come, i would impact someone’s life in a great way. even if it is only one person, that person will know that i care, that i mean what i say and that i am going to change the world.

i wish i could write more, but i just can’t put my feelings into words just yet. Even after 7 years, the love i have for this experience can still not be described; i don’t have just one word… 

…actually, i have a word. the word is HOPE.
